Mikano Motors, just five years in the market, is already making headlines and giving competitors cause for concern. From one brand, the company has grown its portfolio to include ZNA, SAIC, Maxus, Geely, and Changan brands.

Though Mikano is already a household name, the birth of its motors division was fortunate to be handled by a man who knows automobiles inside out. That man is the hardworking and charismatic Ralph Haidar, who has built a team of dedicated and committed young individuals. They work, even at odd hours, to push the brand in a very competitive local auto market.

Starting as National Sales and Brand Manager in 2021, Haidar rose quickly through the ranks to become General Manager and then Managing Director. He brought 13 years of experience in the automotive industry and a wealth of knowledge in developing Chinese brands in growing markets. Prior to Mikano, he was the National Sales & Brand Manager of CHANGAN Lebanon from January 2016 to January 2021.

He was also the Geely-Ssangyong Senior Sales Man for Rasamny Automotive Industries SAL from January 2015 to January 2016. Ralph, who has adopted the Nigerian name “Obioma,” was the Renault Showroom Sales Manager for Bassoul-Heneine s.a.l. from March 2014 to August 2015. He possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, General and Interior Design from the Lebanese American University.

According to him, before coming to Nigeria, he was told scary tales, but he has since fallen in love with the country and its people. He says, “Success is not just about talent and hard work, it’s also about continuous self-improvement, consistent learning, adapting to change, and embracing uncertainties and new ideas. To seek growth opportunities and strive to be better every day, you must commit yourself to the journey of self-improvement that never ends. That’s the key!”
