An accomplished scholar and administrator per excellence, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah joined the services of the Institute in 1994 as Senior Staff Development Officer and by dint of hard work rose to the position of Director, Training Department in 2013.

He was at several times Special Assistant to former DG/CEO of the Institute.

Bayero, who hails from Kachia LGA of Kaduna State, was born in the serene and peaceful city of Kagoro, Kaura LGA of Kaduna State, in March 1964.

Little Bayero, of noble Fulani heritage, began his quest for education at LEA Primary School, Kpak, Kagoro from 1971 to 1976. From there, he had a stint at Katsina Teachers College before proceeding to Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto in 1982.

Armed with a BSc in Geography in 1987, he proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, from where he graduated in 1994 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA).
A goal-getter, he quickly followed up the following year with a Postgraduate Diploma in Transportation (PGDTL) from NITT.

Perhaps in sync with English poet Alexander Pope’s philosophy that “he who adds not to his knowledge diminishes it”, Bayero Farah then proceeded to obtain his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from ABU in 1999.

He subsequently capped his academic pursuit with a PhD in Management and Business Administration from the internationally renowned University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, between 2011 and 2017.

Before joining NITT, Farah had worked in different parts of the country as a class teacher, DFRRI Project Supervisor, and a Census Cartographic Officer.

A member of the Institute of Management Consultants (MIMC), Farah is one of NITT’s pioneer Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT).

With innumerable ad hoc appointments within Nigeria and beyond, Dr. Farah has also attended workshops and conferences in Mexico, Singapore, United Kingdom, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and China, among others.

Until his appointment, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah was the Director of Training at the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria. He became substantive DG in 2020.
