Dauda Aliu Biu (Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps)

Dauda Aliu Biu was first appointed acting corps marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on July 25, 2022. His
appointment was confirmed on December 31, 2022 by former President Muhammadu Buhari. He thus became the second career officer of the FRSC to head the organisation, after Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, the erstwhile corps marshal. Although Dauda Biu hails from Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State, he was born in Zaria, Kaduna State in 1964.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the prestigious Anhmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State.
Dauda Biu joined the services of the FRSC in 1988 and rose through the ranks. He was Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Finance and Accounts Department at the national headquarters of the FRSC, Abuja, before his appointment as corps marshal.
Biu has received numerous professional qualifications such as Fellow Certified National Accountant (FCNA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) of lreland and Certified CMD Management Consultant.
He also attended several courses both within and outside the country, amongst which are the International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference Chicago, USA; the World Conference of Accountants Sydney, Australia; California Highway Patrol Academy Sacramento, USA; Transport Research Board meeting Washington DC, USA; International Financial Reporting Standards SWAT Valley United Kingdom, and Performance Management Beyond the Balanced Scorecard
Cranfield University, UK.
In Nigeria, Biu has attended the Guards Brigade, the Nigerian Army Special Arms Bearing Training for senior FRSC officers, Diamond School of Protocol and Etiquette on Emotional Intelligence and Flitch Institute of Directors Effective Governance Workshop Lagos, Nigeria.
The seasoned and experienced FRSC officer is a member of professional bodies such as the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Association of National Accountants Ireland (CPA), Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Transport Research Board USA, member, Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (MISPON) and member, Nigeria Institute of Management (MNIM). Others are Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC).
